Prior to dating America, Marie worked as a fashion stylist and a professional matchmaker. In January 2009, she began publishing her own magazine, Massachusetts' Singles Magazine (MSM), in which she writes a column titled Fashion Sen$e. In Fashion Sen$e, Marie teaches young professionals how to dress to impress without hurting their savings.
Born in Haiti, Marie moved to the United States just a few months shy of her fifteenth birthday. Her mother who lived in Boston, Massachusetts was able to send for her, her siblings and her father after working for ten years in America. At just 27 years old, Marie has accomplished quite a lot. She served eight years in the US Army reseve, graduated with two bachelor's degrees from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and started her own magazine publishing business.
Marie is now diligently working on her first book based on her dating quest, Marie Dates America: 50 days, through 50 states, for 50 dates. Marie was named “The love guru” in a 2009 Boston Globe article.
